Imagine being told that your 4 year old child has an incurable disease (Sanfilippo Syndrome) that will rob them of their life before their 20th birthday. My friends Elizabeth and Randall Linton experienced this shocking news 13 years ago with respect to their beautiful daughter Elisa. For them the news was a call to action that resulted in the creation of The Sanfilippo Children's Research Foundation (SCRF). As Elisa enters into the final stages of her fight with Sanfilippo Syndrome, I have agreed to join a team of 26 individuals to climb Mount Kilimanjaro later this year to raise funds for SCRF. We hope to add significantly to the $4 million already raised by SCRF over the last 13 years for research to find a cure for this deadly disorder. Because this condition is so rare, SCRF is the major global fundraiser for Sanfilippo Syndrome. SCRF is excited about research results to date. Human trials for drugs to be used to treat some aspects of Sanfilippo Syndrome are expected to begin in 2013.
Please help us to find a cure for this dreadful disease by sponsoring my climb of Mount Kilimanjaro. You can sponsor me by going to Sponsor My Climb and donating on-line. My web page is shared with my brother Andy who will be joining me on this amazing venture.
